Tom Dixon is a senior physiotherapist at Get Active Physiotherapy. Tom graduated from Northumbria University, England, in 2009. He worked in a large NHS Trust in the North East of England for three and a half years, gaining invaluable experience in musculoskeletal, neurological and cardiorespiratory physiotherapy, before moving to New Zealand where he worked just outside Wellington in a busy private clinic for 18 months. Tom chose to pursue a career in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and has completed a number of courses that have helped develop his clinical reasoning, assessment and treatment skills. He prefers a hands-on approach to physiotherapy, utilising his manual therapy skills, which are complimented by his exercise prescription, Clinical Pilates background and the use of acupuncture/dry needling. Tom is a big believer in educating his clients about their injuries and empowering them to utilise the appropriate tools to facilitate their recovery and prevent future reoccurrence.
