Julia has always had a passion for sport and exercise, having been a competitive swimmer and dancer from a young age. She understands what it is like to push the body to the limit during exercise, sometimes allowing it to compensate in not so optimal ways just to get the job done. Having had some niggly injuries herself, a mix between curiosity for learning more and wanting to help others, led her to study physiotherapy at The University of Sydney.
Since graduating, Julia has worked in both hospitals and private practice, allowing her to work with patients of all different needs – including weekend warriors, post-operative patients, office workers and athletes. This experience combined with several post-graduate courses, allowed her to fall in love with Pilates and its relevance to physiotherapy, leading her to BPS. It is near impossible to treat an injury without assessing the whole body and movement, which is exactly what is done at BPS.
In her spare time, Julia still enjoys dancing
