Dr Erick Fuentes is a specialist oncoplastic breast surgeon in Sydney. That means that he specialises in surgery for breast cancer – known as a surgical oncologist. He uses techniques learned from plastic surgery to preserve the appearance of the breast, wherever possible. If a mastectomy is unavoidable, Erick’s approach will ensure the best aesthetic outcome possible, should his patient elect for reconstructive breast surgery.
Erick completed FRACS training in General Surgery through the John Hunter Hospital in 2011. In 2012 he completed training in Breast Oncologic Surgery at the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute. Further training in Acute, General and Trauma Surgery was pursued at Liverpool Hospital in 2013.
Erick is highly experienced in the most recent therapeutic and diagnostic techniques for breast disease. In particular oncoplastic breast surgery that aims to remove breast cancer while preserving or reconstructing the breast.
