I became a dentist a little by accident. As a native of the western suburbs of Sydney, my career started as a dental assistant in the 1990’s. I soon found I most enjoyed helping and caring for others and In 1993 I graduated as a dental therapist, my first step as a Community Health services practitioner.
My Masters Degree in Health Science Education followed in 1998 and in 2003 I graduated with Honours in a Bachelor of Dentistry. Every day I'm humbled to be able to help my local community with their health.
The question for me now is: why do I keep on being a dentist?
That's a simple answer. I care about people and I'm grateful to have skills allowing me to make a positive contribution to the health and wellbeing of others. As a practitioner I continue to upskill to make sure my patients receive the absolute best in care.
