Dr Jay Baumwol is an expert in the management of heart failure and general cardiology including the assessment of chest pain, shortness of breath and palpitations. His areas of interest include cardiomyopathy, advanced heart failure, cardiac transplantation, and echocardiography (including stress echocardiography and trans-oesophageal echocardiography or TOE).
Jay graduated medicine with honours from the University of Western Australia. He undertook his general physician and cardiology training at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney where he also completed a Fellowship in Echocardiography, and further trained in advanced heart failure & cardiac transplantation. He then completed a Clinical Fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure & Cardiac Transplantation at Toronto General Hospital, Canada, and also undertook further echocardiography training at Mount Sinai Hospital and Toronto General Hospital, Canada.
